I had a new limited slip differential and an aluminum drive shaft installed in my 2016 Dodge Challenger by Tracy and his team. It was a big job and also included a cradle lockout. They did an amazing job and the price was more than fair. I would not hesitate to bring any of my cars to their shop and will bring all of my high performance needs to them. I’m very glad we found Smith Automotive and they all made me feel right at home!

Absolutely outstanding! Drove three hours with my daughter to look at a car after her’s was deemed a total loss. Checked for local shops and Smith’s had great reviews so that was where we went on our test drive hoping they could squeeze us in to have the car looked over. They went above and beyond!! Looked the car over, told us what needed to be done and what could wait. They even called around to find us tires that would fit the Miata if we bought it so my daughter wouldn’t be driving 3 hours on tires that were 10+ years old and two different sizes. Seriously wish they weren’t three hours from where we live because they would be my permanent shop when I can’t or don’t want to do the work myself. Finding a place that looks out for you like you are family when you are a complete stranger is not something you run across every day. Thank you Smith’s for going above and beyond.

We have heard great things from the locals about Smith Automotive. We've taken our vehicles in a couple times and really like the honesty and quality of work. We trust them and can see why they are highly referred around town. We haven't been using them much recently because it's not a savings financially compared to other mechanics around here who can get us in same day whereas Smith Auto typically can't get us in for 7 business days. This is definitely one of the good guys around town but not the only one. Prices are comparable and fair but it takes longer to get your turn. Friendly staff.
I had to have the rear axle and differential replaced on my (late) dad's 2014 F-150 XLT 4WD 5.0L. The original owner of it hauled horses and the seal busted and leaked and it was somewhat expensive $3,690 but it has a unlimited mileage 3year warranty with new axle and differential! I could have saved a $1,000 but it had a 25,000 mile warranty and it was all rebuilt as new axle with new differential..which is ultimately cleaned,inspected and rebuilt unless u buy all the parts actually new and build it which will cost even more part by part. I am glad to have my truck back now as it was left to me and it is smooth driving and new rear shocks. Over all so far very happy..I do not plan on getting rid of the truck anytime soon and besides who can afford to buy a new or new used truck for $45,000- $90,000 this day and age?

Called them and they got me in and out within the hour, price was absolutely reasonable, and I feel beyond blessed to have found them so I can finish my journey with confidence. My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee developed an Electrical Problem involving passenger side mirror, Windows, Doors, and Hatch stayed Locked, which Dealership Wouldn't Touch.I Took it to Tracy which After looking at It, said He Could Fix It. And Two Hours Later IT WAS FIXED. Back to normal Operation. I Am now Convinced That I Have A Great mechanic and Shop,and Will be Returning for My Repairs. Thanks Tracy and Employees. Larry.
My old truck was in an accident. Tracy was nice enough to squeeze in and replace the steering box, and do a front end alignment. The old truck has driven this good in a long time. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for up front, honest work...
I have been taking vehicles to Tracy to fix for several years now. Anything from just changing brakes all the way to changing a transmission. Old cars to new, he has fixed them all for me. The latest was a 2019 Ford Escape with a CVT transmission. It went out and was of course out of warranty. Ford could not get a new transmission due to parts shortages, go figure. Tracy tracked down a low mileage transmission from a place out of town and had it installed pretty quickly. He advised me to stay away from CVT transmissions and on further research I found him to be 100% correct. I don't car shop at all now without asking Tracy which vehicles to avoid. Tracy will be my families technician from here on out.
I moved to Crossville TN in June of 2021. I looked for a credible and reliable automotive shop to establish a relationship with that I could trust. I found Smith automotive after speaking with a few people. I met Tracy the owner and explained to him that I wanted to establish a relationship with a mechanic as I have a 1968 c10 project truck and a 2018 Wrangler JLU. Tracy has went above and beyond when working on both of my vehicles. My jeep needed the camshafts replaced as a factory recall. After speaking to two different dealerships, it was clear that I wanted Tracy to perform the recall work as I didn't feel comfortable with the other people I spoke with about the problem. Tracy had already performed modifications to the suspension on my c-10 and maintenance on my Jeep. I have always been very satisfied with the professional and timely work that his shop puts out. I should add that before I moved here my stepson was my mechanic so I have come to expect being treated like family. I have to say that Tracy and his employees treat me as part of the family and I know I can rest assured that when I go in with a problem they will take care of it as it was their own vehicle. I am very happy with the service I receive at his business and count myself lucky as I have found a honest and trustworthy mechanic I can count on.
The Owner talk me into trusting him to work on my car, i regret that.. They offered me and my Dad a refund in exchange for a good review and then would not do that when my dad returned a day or two later, told us they was going to call around to the other garages and make up a story about us being scammers and they would come to our house if we said anything.. *This is unacceptable* It might cost a bit more but it would be WELL WORTH IT to take your car to EAST TN DODGE if you care about your car like i do.. My dad decided to record the whole thing with his cell phone when they started cussing and calling him vulgar names and i am glad he did.. They told me the owner was having a bad week and didnt have time to fool with $100 jobs when he needs money.. i cant help that, and he shouldnt take it out on me. I hope if you go here they treat you with respect and are kind and fix your car because of this being brought to light, after all you are the person who is paying them to work for you, not the other way around. If you dont already have a Good mechanic,Take your car to the dealer, they are trained properly and avoid being mistreated and threatened like i was unfortunately. I recommend taking someone with you if you go here.. They wasnt bad until i came back and they seen i was alone.
Very knowledgeable and helpful. They actually didn't do the repairs on our vehicle but they sent me directly to where I needed to go to have the work done and I wouldn't have known that it was covered under a recall if it wasn't for these folks

Took my vehicle in for plugs and coils and the overflow bottle. I supplied all parts, they called me about 2 weeks later said I needed a throttle body. I supplied one. $500.00 later I got the car back every light on the dash was on. For some reason the added trans fluid and it was the wrong kind ruined my trans. I checked the factory throttle body it was fine, I reinstalled it, car ran much better. Transmission had to have the fluid flushed and filter changed, still the wrong fluid burnt the trans up. They cost me a lot of money. I would not recomend them to do any work on a vehicle!
Bought and installed a rough country lift kit and turned out amazing! Great work and in amazing time! Definitely will be back!

Tracy at Smith Automotive was an absolute God-send in a stressful highway breakdown. Mid 3 day road trip, my catalytic converter partially fell off in the middle of i-40. I was towed to Tracy's shop. It was a Saturday, so I was planning to wait until Monday for him to look at my car. He then called me Saturday night to hear what happened and offered to come in on a Sunday to fix it for me so I could continue my long trip. He was very fair, honest, generous and quality. He doesn't cut corners or play games. Finding an honest mechanic is a needle in a haystack, I can't believe my luck. I would drive way out of my way to see him again. If you are close to Crossville, you would be silly to go anywhere else. Thank you Tracy!!!
